LGBTQ+🏳️‍🌈

LGBTQ is a common abbreviation that we hear nowadays. It stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer. While some people feel proud to be a part of this, some people are ashamed to be a part of this or made to feel ashamed of being a part of this. Some people support this but not make a noise about it while some people use it as a medium to gain likes on their posts yet stay away from LGBTQ people.

We are living in a society where even a boy and a girl are forbidden to fall in love 'before marriage' and we expect them to accept LGBTQ? How stupid are we? We live in a society where 'love' is a taboo word itself yet we expect them to understand love between two people's soul and not gender? How stupid are we? We laugh among people who use 'gay' as a slang word to humiliate people yet we expect them to have respect for gay? How much stupider can we get?

Respect is one thing and acceptance is another. But the thing they want the most is to normalize LGBTQ and not make a big deal about it. They don't want extra importance, they want to be seen as normal people. They don't want to be proud of being a LGBTQ, they want to feel normal about being a LGBTQ. That is literally what everybody wants. In Nepal, expecting people to react normally when two guys walk holding hands and acting lovey dovey is seriously stupid. It will probably take two generations more to normalize this in our country and you know it's true in your heart.

The most hateful people are the ones who just use LGBTQ as a content so they are seen as nice people who accept LGBTQ and support them but in reality, cringe when someone uses the word gay. We can never understand the pain they go through. We can never understand what anybody goes through. We speak in their favour but does that make them feel any better? No. Because the things they go through will never change. Those judgemental eyes will never melt. How much ever protest we do will only end up being a noise to those stubbornly judgemental people.

All we can do is not look at them with those surprised and judgemental eyes when they come out of the closet. All we can do it accept them when they learn to accept themselves. We write, we speak, we listen and we protest but still it will be for nothing when we ourselves stare at the guy who wears bangles. It will be for nothing when we stare at the girl who shaved her head. It will be for nothing when we treat them as a social topic and not a person.

Let's not make a fuss about it, let's not make them a social topic.Let's just treat them as a part of the normal society. Let's just treat them as a normal person. Let's just not try to understand their pain but be there for them when they are broken as we would for a friend. Let's just be there for them when they are ready to fight for their rights. Let's make LGBTQ a normal gender. Neither a special nor a shameful gender but just a normal gender.
